Skin+Metrics Skin Care is a line of products developed by Dr Lain, sold only at Steiner Ranch Dermatology. Dr. Lain researched each product in this line and specifically included only those that have proven efficacy and results. There are no gimmicks in this product line; if used properly, you will see results.

Facial Cleansers:
We recognize that different skin types require different cleansers. We carry a range of cleansing products to ensure that we have the right one just for you. We carry foaming cleansers, non-foaming cleansers, alphahydroxy cleansers and betahydroxy acid cleansers.
Gentle Facial Cleanser
Gentle Facial Cleanser contains Poloxamer 123, an extremely gentle surfactant developed for sensitive skin. Clinically shown to exhibit 1/24 the irritation potential of the leading non-foaming skin cleanser. Designed for patients with sensitive skin who cannot tolerate conventional commercial cleansers.
LactiCleanse Creamy Cleanser
LactiCleanse Creamy Cleanser helps moisturize dry skin with Lactic acid, Petrolatum and Sodium PCA, and is ideal for patients using products or procedures that can dry the skin. Designed for patients with Normal to Dry skin.
LactiCleanse Foaming Cleanser
LactiCleanse Foaming Cleanser helps remove excess lipids without over-drying and contains 0.5% Salicylic acid to enhance exfoliation. Designed for patients with Normal to Oily skin.
Exfoliating Foaming Cleanser
Exfoliating Foaming Cleanser contains 2% Salicylic acid combined with Glycolic acid. Designed for patients with acne-prone skin.
TeaDerma Pads
The first commercially stable form of purified Polyphenol: Epigallocatechin Gallate (EGCG), the most biologically-active component of Green Tea designed in a topical solution to be used with pads. EGCG is associated with a variety of biological effects including free-radical scavenging, inflammation reduction, and UVA/UVB photo protection. The anti-oxidant activity of EGCG is approximately 100 times that of Vitamin C and 25 times that of Vitamin E at protecting cells and DNA from damage. Stability is assured by supplying EGCG as a dry powder with an aqueous vehicle which is combined in-office and used within 60 days at room temperature or 90 days if refrigerated.
MelaShade
We also carry a unique melanin-containing physical sun- screen. Melanins are a class of pigments responsible for the color of skin and hair, and can neutralize free radicals generated by UVR. MelaShade sunscreen contains only Titanium- dioxide and Zinc oxide for gentle, broad-spectrum UVA and UVB protection. The chemical-free, fragrance-free formula dries clear.
MelaShade has a specially designed silky, matte-finish for- mula ideal for facial application. The silicone vehicle is well suited for post procedure and sensitive skin.

Our Intensive Lightening 4% products contain potent skin lightening ingredients plus anti-oxidants. The combination includes Kojic acid, Lactic acid, Vitamin C, Green Tea and Hydroquinone, making them among the strongest and most effective treatments available for hyperpigmentation.
Intensive Lightening 4% Pads are presaturated and convenient for use on the face, neck and chest, as well as broad areas of the body.
Intensive Lightening 4% TouchStick is the first Hydroquinone dosage form supplied in a convenient, dabber applicator.
Exfoliating Daily Pads
Exfoliating Weekly Peel Pads
A high-potency combination of alpha (glycolic and lactic) and beta (salicylic) hydroxyacids which, when used regularly, can produce superficial exfoliating effects similar to those produced by an in-office chemical peel.
Exfoliating Daily Pads may be used as an effective adjunct to acne therapy, to refine pores and smooth skin texture. Exfoliating Weekly Peel Pads are an integral part of our anti-photoaging regimen, and are effective in evening out skin tone and texture, reducing fine lines, and reducing pore size.
Both of these products are suitable for all skin types. Exfoliating Daily and Weekly Peel Pads should be used in the evening to prevent photo-irritation. Because the Pads can cause over-drying in some individuals, we recommend that pad application be followed a few minutes later with a light moisturizer, to protect the skin overnight.

Available without a prescription, Retinol is a form of Vitamin A, a time-tested ingredient which improves the appearance of fine lines (in around four weeks), wrinkles (in around 12 weeks), mottled skin tone, hyperpigmentation, skin texture, smoothness, and dry skin. Our Retinol products deliver skin-rejuvenating benefits with less irritation than prescription retinoids.
The Retinol Emolugel formulation is appropriate for normal to dry skin, and the Retinol Serum & Pads are for combination and oily skin types.
Our special formulation of Retinol Eye Area is designed with a lower concentration of retinol for the thinner and more sensitive skin around the eye.
C-mollient Gel
Our C-mollient Gel contains the only form of Vitamin C clinically proven to increase collagen production. The anti-oxidant ingredients in this product ideally suits it for application after skin-rejuvenating treatments such as superficial chemical peels, microdermabrasion, non-ablative laser and IPL.
Our C-mollient Gel is non-acidic, improves the appearance of sagging and dry skin, and reduces skin irritation.
The C-mollient Gel formulation is for dry or sensitive skin.
